Behavior is just one form of communication…in order to understand what drives the concerning behaviors, we will take several visits initially to get to know you/ your child. Particularly for school-aged children/adolescents, we will set up 2-3 parent meetings to hear your concerns and share our approach (to see if we are a good fit), followed by an in-home visit with your child, an in-school observation of your child and meeting with the teacher, and finally an in-office parent-child interaction visit. This introductory sequence of visits will allow for a multi-dimensional assessment of individual functioning.
Areas We Treat
- Neuro-differences affecting the regulatory system and sensory processing, such as Autism Spectrum Disorders and ADHD
- Other developmental disabilities / delays impacting social-emotional and intellectual functioning
- Bio-psycho-social concerns such as Anxiety & Mood Disorders
- Marital and family relationships, parent-child attachment / bonding, sibling dynamics and social relationships
Therapeutic Model – The LMB approach to therapy considers the whole person as a uniquely and wonderfully-made individual, and aims to understand the individual’s developmental trajectory, personality, biochemistry, intellectual processing, environmental influences, interests and passions. We work from a relationship-driven model that seeks to expand the individual’s development of intellectual, social, emotional, and physical functioning in order to encourage the person’s growing sense of connection and purpose.
