Our work over the past 15 years has focused on working with individuals with developmental disabilities and those identified with Autism Spectrum Disorders, as well as their families. We liked the idea of one day, in the distant future, opening what we envisioned as a therapeutic retreat center…or something along those lines…more of a farm or a homestead.

This work has confirmed for us the specialness of a place where people from all walks and minds can come to explore and discover more of who they are, their purpose, and how they connect to others and the world around them. We imagine this place to be a farm where the senses may be explored meaningfully and naturally through various interests such as animals, gardens, art, music, movement and dance, building and creating, etc.

We see these interests as corporately enjoyed, with children and families participating together and building one another up… seeing beyond apparent limitations and deficits…discovering one another’s strengths, passions, and desires to share with the world their hearts. We imagine farm-to-table community benefits. We envision the greater community of clinicians (doctors, occupational therapists, music therapists, physical therapists, speech therapists, equine therapists, nutritionists, etc.), teachers, faith leaders, and parents (our true experts of the field) joining our efforts to make this truly all that it can be and more.
